well i just got the new SHT cd SIGNED BY FUZE! its pretty cool im enjoying it i feel like its a lil more laid back then my older cd but still funky and a groove that hits you so hard. the DVD is out of stock so gonna have to wait a lil longer for that and then one totaly off topic piece of info my new weather report dvd should be here soon aswell so gonna have plenty to keep me happy and get me trying new stuff.

Chimp,

The DVD isn't out of stock they haven't received the first pressing of it yet. I know a couple of us here got an email letting us know that it will be a little longer.

I can't wait till the DVD is in my grubby little DVD-player!

Let us know how that WR DVD is... Full report my friend.

i forgot to add ive also got a new chick corea dvd with stanley clarke, wow its great stuff cant stop watching it. my dad got himself g3 so ive been watching billy, crazy stuff that. and quite a cool santana dvd with some realy cool bass in it, like the old songs of his (69 around woodstock) with some like funky slap stuff in there. very cool stuff to watch.

The only thing that I have ever heard from him was the Lunar Crush disc with Medeski and Fiuczynski. I thought that he had a great sound and feel, and with Gene Lake, the grooves were tight. Fiuczynski on the other hand......wasn't my cup of tea. I think that I might be interested in Soul Machine, so I'll check out the samples.

OK...I'll take another listen to Lunar Crush and I'll also check out some of the samples on Dave Fiuczynski's site. Maybe I'll like him better this time....

Maybe listen to Black Cherry Acid Lab, KiF or the Punk Jazz stuff as well. I wasn't too fond of Lunar Crush the first time I heard it either, but after I heard other stuff by Fuze, I appreciated LC more.

By far one of my favorite guitarists playing with one of my favorite bassist!

I'm still waiting for the DVD...

Only time I saw the Torsos live it was in Buenos Aires with Patrice Blanchard (whom I had the pleasure of hanging with after the show). I really love Fima's work with SHT.

ANDRUCA

i know you posted that a month ago, but i met patrice 6 years ago when he came to my city with a sax player called rob miller and his band prime meridian. i even jammed with them at a workshop they did at a jazz club here. he was way tooo cool.

as for fima, i've got sht, ht, as well both the lost tribe albums and man, he rules.

have any of you heard of this bass player called gregory jones.... i've heard he also plays with sht and i've heard some stuff he's done with adam klipple (www.adamklipple.com) and he's pretty funky.

Gregory is real good, thanks for introducing me to his playing! Adam Klipple is a really heavy-hitter, I had heard a little of his work with Defunkt... I have to pick up that Drive-By Leslie album.

Thanks again man... good stuff still listening to his surf-like stuff.

adam klipple and the drummer on the drive by leslie stuff, willard dyson and also the guitar david phelps also came down with prime meridian that time. i can't tell you what it was like... me, a 13 year old drummer playing with these BAD-ASS players. adam klipple is INSANE. he's so animated behind his organ. he totally RIPS. that one jam really changed my life. i'm still in touch with Willard Dyson, infact, he's been like a mentor to me, providing me with so much guidance via e-mail correspondence over the years.

Well the package that was supposed to caontain the dvd arrived! but it was empty! so we emailed them about this and they have sent a new one no extra charge and more secure!! They responded so quickly, if only all the world worked as well as that!
