the bass is looking buff! one thing i think would really tie it together with the "whole new bass" vibe is if you set in a different style of inlays, poopie maybe even no inlays idk what kind of guy you are. looks like a fun bass though, reminds me of a classic muscle car

Half considered dying the rosewood super black and possibly redoing the inlays, but I got interrupted by employment.

Not bad and I was surprised when scrolling down after looking at the first pic. The new finish certainly brings it up to 2021 and it looks contemporary.

New finish looks better!
I think there are really only two choices though for a professional look transitioning into the neck profile.
Either tape it off for a hard separation line between the new finish and the bare wood or
continue the new finish to include the neck.
Perfectly fine as it is though!

Did consider doing full black on the neck, but I liked the feel of bare wood better, and while wood dye can be done fairly clean, there always seems to be a little bleed under the tape. And I like the sanded look so I'm cool with it.
