Hi, all. My name is Eric. I have been lurking here for a long time, but figured I might as well register and join the fun ;)

I worked in the Gibson Custom Shop for a few years building Banjos, Mandolins, and Dobros. I made the move with Bluegrass to the new facility in downtown Nashville, but left before they moved again to Opry Mills Mall. I have been a professional musician, tech, or builder since 1997 (wow! time really flies!). Now, I am a self employed repair guy recently relocated to Boston. I have a 10 month old and another due in October. I am in my 18th year of playing bass.

Hmmm, that's about it, I guess. Good to meet you all.

Eric

Hi, Eric. You should fill out your profile & user disclosure field (see here:

http://www.talkbass.com/forum/faq.php?faq=commuserpolicy#faq_cup ) and we'd love to see some pics of your work. How do you like Boston?

Welcome to Talkbass!

Filled out the udisclosure. I really do like Boston. I plan on spending 2 years here, then moving to New York City for 3-5 years. After that, I am moving back to the South, which is where I am from. I want to grow old on the Gulf Coast :)

I am starting a new build in a few weeks. I'll start a build log once I get underway.

Thanks :)

Welcome! Do you have a permanent gig doing repairs in Boston? PM me with details, I might have occasional business for you...

I do have a permanent gig in Boston. It might actually be easier to drop stuff off at my house. I see you live in NH. I am in North Andover. Either way, I'll shoot you a pm.
