Hello! Hoping for some help in figuring out my first bass purchase in some time, and this seems like the right place to ask.
I used to play bass and guitar, but stopped for over a decade due to wrist pain following a car accident. I’ve recently found myself able to play again, but after that experience, ergonomics have become the primary/only factor in instrument selection for me.
After trying MANY guitars, I narrowed it down to two models…and when I looked them up, their neck dimensions were nearly identical (at least I’m consistent!) I haven’t found a bass yet, but the closest (a recent Stingray) also shared most of the same dimensions when I looked it up later, so I suspect I’m looking for something similar.
Basically, I’m looking for short scale, 1 11/16 nut width, 10-12” radius. I’m not really sure how to find that, though. Is there any way to search for that sort of thing? (The Stingray got 2/3, but it looks like the short scale ones have narrower nut widths.)
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! (Budget is flexible, I’d prefer to keep it under $700 but would rather wait and save up to get the right instrument.)
