Finding Rickenbacker Bass Pickups?

Hello

Does anyone happen to know of anyplace outside of ebay that sells Rickenbacker OE bass pickups??

I am in need of a Hi Gain neck pickup for my 4001.

I am not interested at all in any aftermarket parts or parts that are way over priced. I would also prefer new.

I would be very thankful for any tips or advice.

Thanks!

Unless it's changed recently, any Ric dealer can get toasters or hi gains.

My favorite dealer is:

http://www.pickofthericks.com

I have no affiliation with these guys, except as a satisfied customer.

Sorry, yeah, that's what I meant but completely omitted. Only a Rickenbacker dealer would have what you need, and you'll likely get the best price outside of ebay, in fact.

Thanks for the info, but you gotta be kidding me!! All theses years I've been searching for something that I could have orderd from say Bass Central down the steet!!! OMG I can kick myself!!

I did get a much needed bridge pick up form Pick of the Ricks and they told me they would notify me when they could supply me w/ a neck pick up. They have been out forever also, but I'll get them a try, it looks like they have a few items not marked "Temporary out of stock".

As for getting them from Rickenbacker themselves, good luck, they never offer pickups to the general public, they should just remove that option from their online store.

It's sad I've had two pickups die on two diffrenct basses. Only my Ricks seem ot have pickup issuses.

Thanks again for the help!!

I got a neck and bridge pickup from Rosetti in London last year - (Rosetti are their UK authorised dealer). No problem getting these but I guess this must have cleared them out as I ordered a couple more in Dec and I'm still told they have none and cannot say when they will be receiving more.

Sometimes pickups are available in the Rickenbacker on-line store but which ones and when are completely random. Something to check, but not to count on.

Just because they are theoretically available through a dealer does not mean that you will be able to actually get some from a dealer within any specific time. I'm sure most dealers could tell you some scary stories about the trouble involved in getting stuff (like, say, instruments) from Rickenbacker. Availability through dealers is probably similar to availability from the on-line store, but you might find a dealer who has some in stock even if Rick is not shipping them right now.

The Rickenbacker on-line store is a pain but they do occasionally have stock. I checked every month or so for a year and was about to give up and then suddenly they had stock and I bought the new high-gain pickups I needed for my old Rick. e-mail and stay on them. They will eventually respond.
