Okay fine.. I'm pretty set that i'm getting the 410XLT David Eden at 4ohms for my WT550.. I'm going to deal with the weight of the cab.. Quick question. I saw a picture of a player who put the cab on it's side so he could have contact with the ground without taking the casters out.. Is that perfectly fine for the speakers? I'm just curious because I think it's a good idea and i'll be doing it soon if I know it won't damage my cab..

One more thing.. Is there any aftermarket cart or something that will aid in transporting the huge amp that's worth getting? Oh Yeah.. I'm getting the cab NEW for 755 Out the door. I'm All kinds of excited. lol

I have Eden gear as well and it is heavy. I invested in a Rock-N-Roller cart (med) size. This thing is a dream and is really saving my back these days. I can load my cabinets, amp head, gig bag and bass on it and make on trip. It also folds up to almost nothing and expands depending upon how much gear you need to carry to the gig. I highly recommend it.

I just sold mine b/c it's an absolute beast.
Nab the 212XLT. Lighter, more even across the board, etc..
The 410 is a little louder, but I too have the 550 and the 212 won hands-down side by side in a contest. The 410 sounds very, very scooped by comparison!

Matter of taste, truly. Nothing wrong w/212's bu the 410XLT has earned its place among legendary boxes. ...worth the weight, IMO.

Of course you can turn it on its side, but often just leaving it up on its casters provides a nice compromise between decoupling w/the stage completely (as in using a GRAMMA) and having too much contact w/the stage. In other words, in some cases turning it on its side may sound good, in other places, way too boomy, and the casters just right.

No issues with lying the cab on it's side. I used to just take the casters out and sit it the right way up as intended. One thing you'll probably find is that the caster sockets will fail at some time anyway so getting a collapsable hand truck is the best way to move it around. I brought a medium sized one that folds flat for storage and it picks up my 410XLT no worries.

Most importantly, never lye your cab face down as the weight of the magnets can damage your speaker frames.

Enjoy that 410XLT fella! It is a killer cab!

+1 on the Rock-n-Roller cart. I use the mini and it works well. It supports up to 300lbs. I used to roll both my 410XLT and 210XST at the same time on it. I got mine at GC for about $60. I use that little thing for everything...furniture, tvs.

The speakers don't know if they're on their side, so it doesn't matter if it's on its side, or upside down.

As to the comments about the 212 vs the 410. The 410 is a ton louder than the 212, it projects farther and handles more power. It is actually louder off to the side and back a was than it is right next to it.

The 212 is actually louder than the 410 if you're standing right on top of it, but the volume decays quite rapidly. That makes it a great cab for small clubs and for use with PA support, particularly if the sound tech is a wuss.

I've got them both, and if I had to sell everything but one, it would be the 410XLT.

The 410xlt kills. But the last word I would use to describe it is scooped. The mid range on that cab cuts through any mix.

I'd always heard that, which is why I was surprised. Maybe I wasn't giving it enough juice? In my practice room, I can only take so much. :)
But it didn't feel/sound like it was as even across the board as the 212.
Then again, I really don't like 10's at all, so that could be a lot of it.

you can put the cab on it's side (I have put my cabs with casters on their sides before), but the casters will rattle if you do it. Because of that, if they are removable, I remove mine...if they don't come off, I leave it up on the wheels.

I heard about laying it face down so that's why i wanted to make sure that on it's side wasn't a big deal *I was pretty sure it wasn't*

I've actually used a Rock-n-Roller cart before and it is definately a breeze to move equipment.

I've been playing bass for a few years but i still don't understand what you mean by scoop? Are you just saying that the mid-range is very loud compared to the lows and highs?

Also.. I heard that the casters do have some problems to them.. so.. is there a way to replace them after market with better casters if I dont want to get the rock n roller cart? what brand would yall prefer?

The opposite- it sounded somewhat "hollow" in the middle, as A/B'd to the 212, which definitely was more "full" from lows to mids to highs.
Again, I may not have really been pushing it enough, but it was a very, very noticeable difference at least to my ears. But that's desirous for a lot of cats.

I've played through the 4 ohm 410XLT and the 210XLT and with the WT550.. and I left everything flat *12 o'clock* and it was amazing. I seriously thought about doing the 212.. the difference being that the 410 gives up so much more volume compared to the 10Hz worth of difference on the low-end of frequency *what i can read from specs*

If I do ever need the low-end however, i'll just through down for a 210XST down the road, run at 2ohms on the 550 and get my 30Hz on the bottom.. i hope that made sense....

If I needed a 1-cab setup, I think I'd check out the Eden 212... Not tired of hauling the current 2-cab setup though. As far as the side thing, I don't think it would hurt, but wondered if the casters would rattle. If so, that would annoy the heck out of me.
