Double Bass Fingerboard dropped off! Cello fingerboard though..

Hey Guys,

So it's not my bass (fortunately!) but a friend of mine who just opened her cello case today had her fingerboard literally just drop off... the glue obviously didn't hold.. this happened while we were just talking and she was pretty shocked, as was I!

So I thought maybe I'd ask here anyway even though it's not a bass fingerboard, I'm sure some of the properties are near the same..

How long does it take to re-glue a Fingerboard back on? don't they have to clamp it for a few days or so?

or is it just as soon as the glue dries and you can start using it?

this is a cello fingerboard so maybe it's slightly quicker and easier.

So I'm curious if anyone knows about gluing a cello fingerboard back onto the neck!?
(and yes we are looking for a luthierto do this but we are constantly traveling so it's kinda difficult..)

Clamped overnight should suffice. Seeing how it going right back on the instrument it fell off of, There shouldnt be much need of fitting, scrapping, sanding, and refinishing (but some should be expected). There may also be some fussy setup work to be done on the bridge, nut and dressing the board once the FB is glued back in place. That is once it reaches the bench, there may be a wait for the work to be done.
