Fingerboards :Rosewood vs Maple vs Ebony

Different species of woods are going to be more different than different trees of the same species. Each species has it's own properties that will vary much less tree to tree than species to species.

I like maple for fretted, ebony for fretless. Although I love the purpleheart board on my fretless Wishbass.
