Double Bass Fingering ideas for the 2nd suite Prelude

Everything is pretty straight forward until the chords near the end. Which fingering do you prefer?

The Dm w/ an A in the bass is proving too far of a reach no matter how I try to roll it. As of right now I'm using thumb, 1 on F, and 4 on the D harmonic but it feels very awkward.

Also, what are your thoughts on the final chord? D A F D

Maybe I'm missing something obvious but has anyone made an easily available recording of this suite? I know Bradetich has done several of them but not sure if he has recorded the 2nd suite yet.

I don't have a problem with that chord, and I don't have huge hands or extra long fingers. But I admit it's a bit of a stretch. Also, I realize now that if I don't have to play harmonic on a double-stop chord, I won't - the difference in tone and volume is too jarring IMO. So I'd suggest you keep practicing the chord - everything on the doublebass is kinda awkward and a bit of a stretch.

The same principles goes for the last chord. I do - Open D string and A harmonic (or pressed-down octave A), then I go for the F on the D string and the D on the G string.

I did a lot of focused practice on the chords today and I think I'm starting to get it. It's going to take some time though. I agree about harmonics. If I can possibly stop a note I usually will.

It's pretty awesome to watch, but probably not helpful. Edgar uses a different tuning than EADG - it's kinda weird and not normal solo tuning either.

E B E A isn't it? With the extension on the low string.

It was a bit hard to catch but it seemed like his low string was tuned (or stopped) to D on that video.
