I know there are more...but I just can't think of any at the moment. Fingerstyle punk bassists are rare. It's a shame.

Yup, I agree with you man. Maybe not a shame, but surely a pity. I think it's not about the speed, cause speed is pretty easy to catch and learn. But most of punk bassists are like "I'm 12 yrs old, i listen a lot of punk and all those guys play bass with a pick so they're my inspiration and i'm going to learn playing my bass with a pick"

But with me it was like i was much into Red Hot Chili Peppers and Flea in general. And when i saw those Youtube clips where you can see him playing Bad Brains' "sailing On'', Dead Kennedys' "Police Truck" and Minor Threat's "Straight Edge" with his mutha****in speedo-awesome fingers i was like "SHita****amothasucka this guy is incredible" and so i was practicing punk songs with my fingas and now i can play faster with my fingers than with a pick and it's not a big effort for me, i just have to warm them up in about 30 minutes. So when i see a punk bassplayer who plays fingerstyle i'm blessed.

Dude get lost. When i wrote "Motley Crue's" i was thinking about arrangement of the song, not authorship. They were playing it in Motley Crue's arrangement, that's why i wrote so.

I don't know if there's a vid. I had an mp3 of it that someone recorded off of a live show. I'm not sure if I still have it.

I don't know if they count as a punk band, but eastern youth's bassist, Tomokazu Ninomiya, plays fingerstyle on a fretless Jazz bass. They were originally an oi! band back in the early 90s, but have since adopted a ton of style but still retain the punk ethic.

I think Chuck Dukowski did as well. At least he doesn't appear to be using a pick in the photo his wikipedia entry, and the stuff on Damaged sounds like fingers to me.

I believe Greg Norton of Husker Du also played fingerstyle most of the time.
