Finicky Precision 5 string PII bass guitar necks. I had to return

I was excited to purchase a used 5 string Fender Precision PII bass. But I had to return it because the neck would get out of wack. Then I bought another one, same thing. Has anyone had a similar situation?

I bought a new American Pro 11 p 5 string 2 months ago and had to adjust neck every day. After a couple a of weeks it settled down. Since then it’s been stable. The g string was too close to the side of neck so I had a new nut made. Love the bass now.

That’s wild… is this a known issue of the Am. Pro II’s? I’ve had one of the first am pro P5’s since 2017 and it’s been great

I've got a 23 AmProII P5 and other than a poorly cut nut, I have had no issues with it. Mine has been hot-rodded to the nth degree, though.

I’ve had my AM Pro II P5 a month or so now.

I’ve tweaked the neck when it arrived and I put my strings on it. Then about a week ago.

I attribute that to the bass acclimating to our rather humid climate.

No surprises with this.

No, I have a Pro II V and a Pro V, both are rock solid.

My Pro II Precision V was practically perfect outta the box and stayed that way ever since I purchased it in 2021. Rock solid neck. One of the best sounding P basses I have ever owned and I was skeptical about going to a P5. I needn't have worried as it is a very balanced sounding instrument.

I think necks occasionally can be a toss-up. Even on good name brands. Laminated ones seem calmer. But there is a time for it to calm down. They have a lot of pressure on them. More than you think especially a 5 string.
