First Bass Amp you ever had?

My first amp was a small practice amp from a pawnshop. Had it a short time and can't remember any details.
My second amp, bought with savings from mowing lawns, was a '60s Guild Thunderbass. At the time, I hated the two-tone grill cloth and robot head.

Got rid of the Guild pretty quickly and bought a blackface Fender Bassman and 2x12 cab.

Well I hate to date myself because as young guy back in the day I went from home stereo's and tin cans with string for an amp but my first proper bass amp was a fender,I remember it was a little weaker than the high amp stereo but I also went through the PA way back, come to think of it I still line out to the PA.I cant even remember what model the amp was but it had a 15 incher and I have not seen one for a while

Peavey MarkIII with a BW equipped 2X15. Got it around 1983. Still have it.

I have never owned a bass combo, unless you count the couple of little Crate 15 watters I have laying around that I give to poor kids with no amps here and there.

My first was a Kustom 200 black tuck-n-roll with matching 2x15 cabinet. I saw it used in the local music store in 1987 and I put like $20 down on it to hold it and then I went out and got my first job ever at age 15 to earn the $200 to pay for it. It took my 2 month of working on the weekends in fast food at minimum wage ($2.13 an hour if I remember correctly because my first and only "raise" was to go up to $2.17 an hour).

I used that amp for the next 10+ years until the head finally died and I didn't want to pay someone to try and fix it. The 2x15 is still owned by a friend of mine and I still entertain the idea of buying it back every once in a while.

Not my pic but it was just like this

Well, I started life as a guitar player. As a pre-teen in the 70's, I came into possession of a Vox Beatle bass and a home-grown, 1/15, tube amp combo, somewhere between 50 and 100 watts. It had one volume and one tone knob, a red light for power and a toggle on/off switch. That's it, but it could be heard for blocks away. I let that set-up get away before I ever started playing bass, and needless to say now I'd like both the bass and the amp back!

My first bass amp was an Alamo Fury 1x15 combo in the mid-70s. What a useless thing it was. All show and no go. Supposedly it was around 100 watts peak, 35 watts continuous. Wasn't a drummer in the world who couldn't totally neutralize it. Couldn't stand it except to practice in my bedroom. I was stunned when some kid who knew less than I did at the time was thrilled to buy it off me.
