First bass at 30..

I am a music teacher, tuba player... My new HS did not have a bass player in the Jazz band, so last November, at age 35, I finally took up bass (had wanted to for a long time). Bought my first bass in January (after playing the school's Yamaha, I bought an Epiphone Viola, and love it), and got a couple more since. Started playing at church last April or May, and joined my first "garage band" last month at 36 (Finishing up my masters this month, and the other two cats are finishing up another project, so we are really gonna hit it come November, with an eye toward gigs in January)... Have not gigged on Tuba for a few years... Bass is getting most of my musical attantion lately. What a blast...

Was just wondering, I'm actually 31 and start with the bass last year. Well, never is too late I think! anyone else?

I started on drums when I was 8...picked up the bass when I was 24...picked up the acoustic guitar when I was 30...got my first electric guitar at 42 (very cool things, these :hiding:)...I'm partial to the bass and consider myself a 'bassist', but each instrument allows me to express myself musically in different ways...
