First bass you ever touched.

Oh man, I'm dating myself here! I believe it was in 1966 or 1967 (while in junior high school) when a friend of mine had a Vox Phatom bass that his parents bought him. He was a huge fan of Paul Revere and the Raiders and just had to have one. I didn't play at the time, but I remember the neck dive it had and the neck felt like a baseball bat. Looked just like this one.

My older brother had an electric guitar that shape.

The first bass I ever touched was when I bought my "brand new" 1964 Kent 670.

A slightly Precision-shaped solid-body Hohner, probably from the early 1970s, which had a white scratchplate and I remember switches for each pickup. the bass belonged to the father of a friend living on my street, and I tried it out a few times. Right-handed, but I didn't know the difference, so I assumed the E string was on the bottom for a long time.

Ibanez SR-something. I still have trouble with P necks and I blame that SR’s pencil neck.

An old Hagstrom...vinyl back and all.
Man selling was in the Marine Corp band...retired...and very proud of having the original strings on it. I was very young **dumb** and opted for a more modern instrument. Ended up with a Memphis P clone but will never forget that red Hagstrom.
