First Custom Job

Laugh if you want. But I wanted to teach myself how to do some custom work. So I took my old Yamaha BB300 (which was already customized a bit: Schaller tuners, brass nut, Badass Bass II bridge) and stripped all the old paint and stickers from it. Years ago I had branded my initials into it so I went with the burned theme and hit it with my crème brûlée torch. I took out the old stock pups and dropped out n some Steve Harris signatures. I covered the volume and tone knobs with a Trooper bottle cap and an old Shiner Bock bottle cap. Also, years ago I pulled out the frets a la Jaco and managed to turn it into a decent fretless bass.
So here she is, one ugly munnyfunster. But I'm proud of her. My Yamaha BB300 F Custom Maiden/Shiner RWJ Signature Series.

I think Heavily modified is more suiting for her ! Considering you did it yourself the Fretless job looks prety decent!

I like the burn. I dislike the bottle caps. I actually reckon a plain black pick guard would match nicely to the body.

Point taken and very true.
Thanks for the comment on the fretless job. To this day I can't believe it came off that well. I was pretty lit when I did it, listening to Jaco and thinking, "If he can do it, so can I!"
The power of beer, determination, and the confidence of youth are not easily defeated. That was a long time ago.
