Thanks Ivca. No, actually what you see is the top view. 4 mm after the 24th fret there´s a steep concave slope that ends flush with the body surface, so both "horns" that you see now are only a flat projection. The fretboard ends around half a way the slope. Do you get what I mean?

To be honest, I liked the previous one better, regarding the upper bout. The lower horn looks cool in your latest design and the wood combination is better indeed.

Very true. Print it out, glue to some cardboard and cut it out, and your perception will likely change again. Before you commit to actual wood.

I actually like the first lower horn, but then again my old BC rich warlock turned me off from the pointy crazy looking horns. Not really my style

Edit: I wonder how the lower horn in the first one would look if it were shorter

Ok, as I warned, I´ve changed my mind once more and none of the two are going to see the light, at least not now. I´ve decided to go for another design. I´m taking these two off.

The new and definitive design is on the first post. I´m sticking to that one. There´s only one piece of detail that I´m still evaluating.

To show some "concrete" progress here is my second workbench finished. Now I need to set my table router. Thing is that I don´t have a router but a trimmer so I´m thinking how to approach this:

Ok, some more progress:
Finished my multipurpose workbench:

Pups arrived:

I´ve finished convincing myself that both the body and top blanks are too thick. I definitively don´t want to go through the struggle of removing that many expensive material so I´m determined to find a place where I can make them cut by halves thick wise. I´ve also decided to go for a covered neck through (thanks to fellow members for helping me with that decision). I´m also inclined to directly buy a new fretboard intstead of trying to stain the pao ferro one. I rather keep that one and use it in the future (is gorgeous as it is).
Still need to make some more jigs so that I can start doing the templates...

That's a very nice multi purpose workbench, I like it! I'm still in doubt about that wonderful German jig you bought, to use drill and jigsaw as stationary tools.. or I might finish my current build and start saving for a real bandsaw and / or planer...

Those pups are nice, I'm curious how they will sound with the active Aguilar EQ and I think you've made good decisions about the wood. Maybe you can visit Vox Humana to help you with cutting the wood to specs? They have the tools and knowledge.

The drum and disk sander jig works really nicely. What I´m struggling with is the jigsaw jig. It vibrates a lot even cutting pine. The instructions says that it shouldn´t vibrate at all...
I paid like 10€ for my jigsaw so it´s also very likely that there lies the problem.
It´s good to know that vox humana might do the cuttings since it´s not something that everybody can do. Thing is that I´m visiting Amsterdamse Fijnhout this Thursday to buy a new fretboard and there are chances that they could make the cuts and planing.
We´ll see...
BTW: interested in some veneers from there?

BTW2: The preamp I´m gona use is an Audere. Anguilas in Spanish are those serpent like fishes that emit electricity shocks

Could be the jigsaw, but then it should vibrate too when operated in the 'normal' way. Could be the AFH also can cut the boards, but my experience is they are very, very busy lately. But maybe you're lucky.

Don't know about the fish, but Aguilar is a brand that also produces preamps and I thought you were going to put an OBP-3 in, but it seems I mixed up those two brands.

I was joking with the typo you made with Aguilar. I have an OBP3 installed on my main bass an I find it to be one of the best sound/price/size ratio preamp out there. But I got the chance of trying out the audere, looking forward to hear it (that means my bass will be ready :-D )

You are very quick.. I fixed the typo within a minute after posting. About the vibration: it could be a dull blade, or a blade not suitable for that thickness.. then, I also encouter vibration. Not sure though..
