FIRST OFFICIAL LOG EVENT!

Well, I was totally coming on Saturday but it turns out we screwed up and didn't realize my stepdaughter's karate tournament is that day. Since it was her mom's weekend with her I figured we didn't have anything planned. Turns out my fiancé bought us tickets and told her we were coming and she'd be crushed if we didn't show up.

I'll be there in spirit. As much as I love watching her do her activities, we would have never signed her up at this McDojo (it was her mom that did it) and she'd be kicking butt with Tae Kwon Do (what I do) or Jujitsu (what my fiancé does) instead of this namby-pamby, money-grubbing Karate farce.

so....
can we bring our basses or should we definitely not? i have no intention of trading/swapping/etc, but i don't have the opportunity to compare my bass to other lakies around here. i was hoping to do a little a/b'ing.

and, there was a certain DS'd glaub i was hoping to hear...;)
Seems like not bringing basses is the better option in this case. Sorry, Greg!

However, I think I'm probably going to go to the Madison GTG on June 7 if you want to check out the Glaub then!

ahhh, so you caught my subtle hint....

i hope to get to madison, too. but it is awful close to this event. between my working weekends and gas prices, i have to be somewhat limiting in my roadtrips. unfortunately.

lakies, gtg's, why can't we just have it all?!?!?

We PROMISE that the next Lakie GTG will be a "gear fest"....there is way more than enough interest!

See you all there in a few hours!!!

hey yall, the owners group GTG/clinic was pretty cool, im glad i went and ill be saving my pennys for a lakland as my next purchase, most likly a skyline glaub or dunn. i need me a good p bass :). that prototype 5 string p was pretty nifty lookin. they should offer the basses in natural, i liked how it looked.

Hey all, I had a great time, too! I posted a summary on the Lakland thread for those who are interested.

Watspan, you were there? Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet. Ah well, there's the Madison GTG.

Bob, I think we met briefly, it was kind of a blur there for a while. I know I saw you when all us TBers stood up.

Glad to meet you there! I agree on the natural color on the P5 - SWEET!

nice event--thanks for the hard work setting it up! Cream city is a great place! I went expecting to buy a Duck Dunn, but now I'm saving a few more bucks and waiting until Sept. to get that Skyline Decade w/ chi-sonics!

Isn't it funny how things change when you are "exposed" to different basses? Life is good!

glad to meet you fine sir!

yes, definitely a great time, and well worth the drive! it was great to connect some faces to the avatars, but i gotta admit, their a few too many for me to keep straight! now i am starting to lose track of who was who...
