First Wiring experience

ok so i just finished doing my first complete wiring job, its on a replica Les Paul 2 volume 2 tone 3 way switch. I plug it in and i get sound out of it but sadly i get A LOT more buzz and hum.

The noise is reduced when i place my hand on the pots so by that deduction(using what little knowledge i have about electronics) im thinking that its a grounding problem, if thats the case is the solution to go back and recheck all my grounds or can i localize the problem?

im just stoked that i got any sort of noise out of it in the first place but obviously i need more 'pretty' sounds to come out so thanks for the replys!:hyper:

High end buzzing is electrostatic noise. That is a ground and/or shielding issue. Check that. To be sure, hum should only refer to the line noise of your AC power. It's about the same pitch as your A string. If it isn't that low, it's just the other thing. If it is that, then make sure you didn't accidentally wire the pups wrong. If still not fixed, I have no ideas.
