the headstock isn't my fave either.
i don't know their pricepoint, but, the carvin icon uses some similar laminate construction, and isn't scary priced.

Bridge freaks me out a little bit. Are there even string grooves in those?

The bridge saddles are adjustable for intonation and in fact do have grooves for the strings.
The basic prices are $3000 for a 4, $3500 for a 5, and $4000 for a 6.

i know im digging up an old thread but i just searched the forum for fishbone because i was wondering the scoop on these beautiful instruments. @lofreek are these really that cheap???
I just dropped off my head at LS Electronics and ended up chatting with the gang there about Fishbone basses. They said that LS Electronics will have some in their 'showroom' soon. When I return to pick up my head, hopefully they'll have a couple there to drool over.

Revitalizing an old thread - I stopped by LS Electronics to pick up a fret level that they finished up on one of my basses and saw several of these fantastic instruments in person. Extreme attention to detail, on par with any custom boutique builders on the market. Cool to see such high end basses being made in the St Louis area.
I was lucky enough to play the 5-string Maple one in the pic below (sorry for the below average cell pic). I wish the strings were a little newer on the one I tried, but it was still very punchy and growly and the tension on the B string was really, really good. The controls on the maple top one that I played were simply a master Volume, Pickup blend and a Tone knob. It really didn't need much more than that - huge array of great tones which I'm sure speaks in part to the amazing build quality and the Duncan Basslines pickups. I'm not sure if the preamps are Duncan stuff too or proprietary, but the bass sounded very good. The neck was pretty thin (front to back), and the spacing felt somewhere in the area of 18mm (maybe 19mm), not sure on that. Felt great to play.
Not that I am in the market for anything at this price point, but if I change my mind on that - these will get a long hard look from me for sure. Just wanted to chime in with my experience with some of these amazing instruments being made in the STL area. I had never heard of these before and I live in the area, lol. I should have known there would already be a thread or two here on TB. Anyway - IMO, anyone looking for a high end bass that rivals anything on the market would do well to add these basses to your short list.
