In that case a used Spector ReBop might be another good choice, but, once again, 35" scale.

I don't know if Peavey's making 5 strings that aren't bolt on now. I was looking at their page and the only thing they seem to advertise on it for the Cirrus 5 string is a bolt on.

I believe you can still order them through the Peavey Custom Shop. Or you could buy mine (in the Classifieds). My real point was just to make the OP knew that, if he wants a 34" and he goes to look at Peaveys, he should make sure he's looking specifically for/at a bolt-on.

Oh I know what your point was man. I wasn't trying to take away from that. It was just an observation I made that had me wondering if they discontinued making neck thru 5ers is all. I also couldn't find a link for their custom shop and I'm doubting they did away with it.

Get a base build-out Carvin SB5000. With no options, it lists at $899 + case and is a NICE bass.

Used: A TON of options. Why new? Buying on plastic?

So that's about $200 MORE than the OP's limit of "less than $900 new" . . . . . .
