Flabby Strings in drop C

i play in a metal band but i am really comfortable with my fingers but hate picks when it comes to playing bass. how would I get a good sound in drop C with my fingers? I've already tried playing near the bridge but it sounds like crap and I tried playing softer with my fingers and turning the amp way up still no good. Suggestions?

Increase the string gauge for more tension

I use 125. string for c. Its really hard to play soft when playing metal, so adjust your action to your needs.

If you tune to C-G-C-F (?) I would recomend 55, 75, 95, 125. Single strings from e.g juststrings.com
