Flats that are "off the grid"?

strings literally lasting forever is not possible.

I've had Daddarios on my Dano Silvertone for 35 years now. Yes, they still tune up OK.

I've had Ernie Balls on my 61 P-Bass (it was what Bass NW strung it up with it when I bought it) for around ten years so far. No plans to change them unless they break (not too likely).

I'd never keep rounds on that long but flats seem to last forever, at least for me.
