Flats without slik

I was wondering if anyone knew of companies that produce flatwound bass strings that do not have silk ends, besides Dean Markley of course.

The silk that does come on the strings comes off pretty easy. Just need a razor to make a small cut then unravel it.

These have no silks (see picture) , not sure if they are any good though

No they aren't, I just picked up a set of 9050ML's for my fretless, and they have green silk

i have an old set of Dean Markley flats, and they have tan colored silk wrappings...

Cause I really dislike the sliking. It looks nice, but it has a tendency to fray.

That is true; One time I was changing the strings from flat to round on a bass a few times, and after putting the flats back on again for the third time or so, I had noticed that the headpiece had little red dust specs ALL OVER IT, so I blew on it once and it cleared away.

But it only happened because I was toying with the strings a lot.
