It's not an alleged lack of tension, however, they're no more loose than roundwounds. I hated them because I like my flats tight, but they're not so loose that you cant play them.

Flatwound break-in time

removed set of new 77 rotos yesterday within 10 minutes from my fretless warwick. they sounded great but way too much tension, made my 34" neck feel as if it were 35". i am interested in flats-not round or tapewound strings, but which have you tried & liked with good elascticity/less tension?
i have a set of Daddario Chromes on my fretless corvette.
I am totally digging them
how is the elasticity on the chromes? D'A half rounds? DM flats? EB? DR flats? (from what i've read TI's might be the best for my interests-elasticity & stand-up bass sound?)
I got to be honest, I cant compare it to other flatwounds, except the fender ones.
I can easily dial in a upright sound.
