it's recommended that, when switching from rounds to flats, you downsize it. For example, if you're used to using 45-105 for rounds, try 40-100 for flats.
I wish I'd known that before I bought my 50-105s to replace a 45-105 round set... but have to say after a setup and some practice I'm preferring the thicker gauge now.
Chromes are really nice, I am enjoying mine. They sound very clear, and chords ring out with all notes heard, which is not the case with rounds that i've used - especially in the lower registers.
