Flatwound lending library/pay it forward idea

I would like to participate and try a set of flats on my Hofner. It has rounds now and I've never tried flats..only tapewounds that are roundwounds with nylon tape. If anyone has a set that doesn't have too much tension on my Hofner neck, I'd love to try them out for a while and then pass them along.

THis is a great idea...gives a nice sense of community.

I have a set of Chromes (ECB84, 40-60-80-100) I'd be willing to swap to someone for a set of LaBellas or a set of tapewounds. They have maybe 2-3 hours play time on them and aren't high tension strings at all, very easy to fret/bend. I have no objection to getting a higher gauge set in return.

would be willing to trade a set of labella 760fl for ti jazz flats if anyone is interested for while or perm. am selling a bass and should get a set of the 760 soon to pay forward

Still looking? I have a set of D'Addario Chromes (ECB81-5SL)Super Long Scale, Warm/Mellow, Regular Light Gauge .045/.065/.080/.100/.132off of my BTB Ibanez (35" Which are what your Obsession and Core are.)very lightly used.

I'd love to try a set of EB or Chrome flatwounds on my MM Stingray 5HH if anyone wouldn't mind letting me borrow them.

I've used roundwounds (Super Slinkys and Regular Slinkys) for some time now and after reading so many glowing posts about flats, why not give them a try?

would love to try some LaBella 760's, 4 string. Have an "old formula" set of Fenders for 4 if someone wants to swap. Do the 760's really not work with string through bridges?

I'm looking for a Thomastik Infeld Flatwound B string. (.136 gauge)

I can offer a set of roundwound GHS Heavy Boomers 50-105. I bought them used from a TB'r who claimed that they have had 6-8 gigs on them, but I didn't use them much since I strung them up with standard tuning, got scared of the tension, and set them away. :o

I have several sets of rounds if anyone wants some/all. I am not exactly sure the origin of all since they came from basses that did not belong to me when strung. I know there is a set of EB Hybrid Slinky's in there. And some D'Addarios as well. Nice strings, I don't use them and won't be going back to rounds anytime soon, so PM me with your address and I'll send them out.

I would love to try some Tapewounds for a 5er 35" scale if anybody has some they would be willing to send out. PM me and i will give you my address. I also have a couple of sets of brand new ernieball rounds (4 string) never used i will give them away just PM me your address.

I forgot to add that I also have a TI Flatwound D-string. It was from a 34" scale set, but it broke at the tuner end and is about an inch too short for my Jazz V tuned EADGC (5 in-line tuners). Used by a germ freak for about a year. :o

I broke my Labella "E" string on a gig Saturday night..replaced the whole set with D'Addarios and I'm having a real hard time with them. Sticking to my hands. I would be happy to trade them for a labella deep talkin' "E". You can have the whole 5 string set. I hate em..you might love em. I'll just put the old strings back on and add the LaBella E.
