Flatwounds on stingray

Bernard Edwards used flats on his Ray? I think he used old rounds actually. but who'd know that.. he had that "dead strings" tone ( but man, he would played it so great!!!) as someone said - I could swear too that I am hearing rounds on live recordings. I also hear lots of Ray sound on first album too... I always wanted to put flats on the Ray but something stops me. maybe set of flats on my P bass is enough. However, I like nickels on the Ray very much - especially when they aint that fresh (after awhile)

It sounds like rounds to me mostly, too.

I have read that he used the strings that came on his Stingray when he got it, and I believe at the time, that would have been GHS Brite Flats, a groundwound string.

I have also read that he used Rotosound and D'Addario rounds.
