I got a new set from a TBer cheap so I tried em, usually use nickels, sunbeam, XL170's but Chromes when I have used flats. I did not care for the Sadowsky flats right off, I put em on my 07 Skyline Jobo5 w/rosewood board, Lakey pups. I don't believe they've mellowed cause after I put em on, I only used the bass a couple times. I think my fingers n ears just got used to them by playing more.
I was in the studio recording a original blues tune, we had some spare time so we did a rough/scratch recording of funk tune the guitarist had just introduced, we sorta threw it together on the fly. I did some sloppy slap stuff but it sounds pretty good on the recording. But we're developing the tune so we only did the one take to have as a reference to build on.
I don't know how to post a tune on TB. I'll research that and see if I can post that demo but the Sad flats worked pretty well that day. Next time I'll take my 55-02D w/DR BB's to record that tune, just easier for me to slap/pop with.
