Flea against "Pro bassists"

How good is Flea in terms of outside the realms of like rock music. say for instance against somone like George Porter, Jr? you know i mean could he hold his own, or is George up another level compared to Flea?

Interesting idea, but I can see this degrading quite quickly into a vs. "My guy is better than your guy" thread.

Even though they both may be labeled "funk", I find there's a ton of difference between Flea's L.A. "PunkFunk" and George's NOLA groove-based funk to make a comparison not worth it.

People do what they do... some do one thing very well, others do many things adequately. The lucky few can do multiple things excellently.

IMO this thread is much like a Flea vs. XXX type thread. We don't allow those in the forum because nothing beneficial ever comes from them and they often lead to trivial quarrals.
