Flea Goes To School

can you guys imagine how weird that would be? flea walks into your class on the first day and sits down in a desk right by you, with notebooks and all. I'd flip!

lol

"dude flea said he's gonna get his band to play at Joe's party this weekend!"

Haha yea, but I bet most the people didn't know who he was.

Teachers taking roll the first day

" Michael Ba....Bal...Balzary? Did I say that right?"
"You can just call me Flea"
*whole class turns and looks*

Let's see. Take what you spent on school, subtract the money Flea made on his last album alone... Carry the two... Equals negative alot.

That or be the one who has to play after him! "Oh, darn broke a string... Someone else will have to go."

Anyway, + a billion to Flea. The day you stop learning is the day you might as well curl up and die.

Sounds like great fun.

A cpl of friends of mine went to the US in the 90's to study at Musicians Institute, they ended up sharing ensemble with their fellow student, Ivan, from White Zoombie (who apparently had a hard time not using the double kicks when playing bossa, and hit the drums way too hard even when playing as soft as he could...). They called him "Ivan the terrible" ...

They had a great time together and there's a bunch of funny stories too, studying is fun no matter when in life you decide to do it.

Thats pretty cool. He seems to have a really genuine love of music. I've heard him talk about playing trumpet with real passion as well. I think it's cool when a guy who is regarded as an innovator still feels he has more to learn. It probably shows why he is so good.

All of the best musicians I know know that they have more to learn. When someone thinks they can't be taught anything anymore, that's a sign they ain't as good they think they are. Not a big fan, but I know he is good. Kudos to Flea...
