Fleabasses sound better than Stingrays

Hey, that's me playing on the first vid. I agree though that ken is a better player than me.
But I would like to say that on that video, I have my eq set flat on bass on my board. I can easily have a tone like him if I wanted to, but it's not the tone that I really dig.

That's a coincidence.


And this comparison is ridiculously unfair. Of course Flea won't play on a Fleabass. The Fleabasses, as he said, were designed to give good sounding instruments as cheap as possible for intermediate or below players. The Stingray is about 5 times as expensive.

I adore the fleabass, but this just isn't true. I'd say though, FWIW, that the fleabass is a good 80% of the ray, for like 10% of the price.

There only are 2 possibles explanations.
- OP hasn't played both basses and he's talking out of his rear end.
- OP has played both instruments and he's deaf.

Is it just me or has Beck really changed his sound?

in the anime (that's where the movie is based on - and that's where the songs from), they got a distributor in the US and was shocked to find out they guy changed their band's name to Mongolian Chop Squad without asking for their approval.

apparently, there was another artist called "Beck" in the USA lol
