Double Bass flite

i have searched this forum and found almost no comments or discussions about flite-cabs. is anyone here using these cabs?
right now i am using a glockenklang 12 with my AI. i love the sound and it is pretty loud too. i am just looking for a more portable box for small duo gigs, that means volume is not important, but the soundquality is!!
is flite in the same ballpark (soundwise)as glockenklang?
here in europe i can not test any cabs that fit my needs.
the glock is the smallest you can buy here. so maybe i will order somthing from the USA.
shipping costs for the LDS 1*8 is 260 dollars!! the flite is sent for 85 dollars. the epifani ul 110 takes 100 for shipping. that means:

LDS 600 dollars
FLITE 435 dollars
EPI 550 dollars shipped

which way to go?
my bass is a huge Pöllman 4string,with obligato, wilson pickup.
the sound i am after is something NHOPlike.

thank you for any suggestions

Yours is an interesting situation. On reading your first paragraph, I would have said "for small duo gigs" the flite 110 is fine. I have used one or two of these for 3 years (depending on the size of the band). But then you said that you are looking for an NHOP sound, and so I would say you won't get that from any of these cabs since that sound is not IN the cabs, but in the pickup and playing style. You can get that sound, once you have created it, out of any bass cabinet, you do not need a hi-fidelity one, in my opinion.
To answer your other question, I would say the Glockenlang and Epi are better cabs because they sound clear (don't distort) at higher volume levels than the Flite.

dear bassame, thanks for your reply. to make the NHOP-thing clear: i know the sound has to start in my head. i just wanted to say that a ray brown bounce is not my cup of tea. with my glock i almost get this sound. almost means that it could be a little more brilliant in the highs. if a lighter cab would sound worse i would NEVER use it. i am addicted to the perfect sound. a clear, even, fast responding (high-fi) sound is what i like to hear from a cab.this is why i look in the 110 section.
do the distortion problems of the flite appear at higher volumes only? i saw in your profile that you own a flite and the Ul110. how are they compared at low volume levels?

i just heard there is a new 110 neo from EBS on the market. maybe i can test it in germany.

At moderate volumes the Epi and Flite are indistinguishable. At high volumes you get a bit of distortion on certain notes when using the Flite [this can be suppressed with a parametric EQ but the accumulation of little boxes can get annoying]. This does not happen with the Epi.

IMO, the Epifani is better at all volumes. The Flite just doesn't sound as even and nice as the Epi to my ears. I run my preamp flat with the Epi, no so with the Flite. It's a bit more dull sounding. However, the Flite does seem to be more consistent in difficult rooms than the Epi. If I were to get one or the other, I'd get the Epi.

I sold my Flite to a friend and he was the one to discover it's strength. If you get the Flite, I'd get it with an adjustable tweeter. I'm thinking about picking up a Flite 1x12 + tweeter if I end up gigging more. I think they're both useful in different situations.

The Ebs Neo Cabs are just great ,
Though not as "HIFI" as the Bergantino or the Epifani ,
Ive played my Realist and Fishman B100 through two NEo 110 with a HD350 Head , and its sounds terrific ..
I dont know how it will work with the WILSON pickup , the only thing you can do is to try it out man !

Ps , Ive been thinking of buying a WILSON , Do you like it ?
