Fly Rig Reset

Hey Everyone,

I have went down the YouTube rabbit hole the last few weeks and I am more unsure about a fly rig option now more than ever. I am looking for a fly rig that I can use instead of my pedal board with my P-Bass for practice and smaller gigs. I mainly play hard rock and pretty much use a tuner, compressor chorus and overdrive. I put my choices in the poll above. Give me your insights if you don't mind and any feedback is welcome. Thanks

I tried all those and stayed with my trusty old Zoom B2.1u, sorry.

I voted for the Trace, after having tried the DP3X twice and the BassFlyRig in the past couple months. Last week I got a Transit B and it gives me an almost-Sansamp kind of sound with the Preshape (scooped, BDDI type tone), an almost-Dug kind of sound with the overdrive blended in and a dose of high mids on the EQ button, plus the compressor is dual-band, pretty nice in moderate doses. So hey, give it a shot.

Boss MS-3. All of those effects and more, and it'll allow you to add easily if you choose to throw in stomps. I use it as a fly rig and to create my own synth patches with external effects.

If ALL you need is tuner, compression, chorus and OD - get the Bass Fly Rig and be ecstatic about finding a small solution that fits all your needs and sounds great.

Good point. The chorus on the BFR is really nice, too. I just couldn't get the rest of it to sound the way I wanted, personally.

The Valeton Dapper Bass is a "flyrig" type pedal. For my needs, it works better than the Tech21. It is also cheaper, should be under $200. I am not affiliated with them at all.

I really enjoyed my bass fly rig, dialed in a ton of settings with it. I have a big board already and ended up trading it, and it now gigs routinely with it's new owner.

No global clean blend was a deal breaker for me. I had the thing six months and tried everything I could think of to make it work for bass but just gave up in the end... Its a ridiculously amazing device for guitar, though. You really can't ask for much more in that application. If they ever update the software to allow for a global clean blend option, I'll buy another one in a heartbeat.
