I have an fMod going from my amp effect send to my compressor, and I have a question about the hook up. Currently I had a patch cable from the send going to a 1/4" female to rca male adapter. Then the fmod then a rca female to 1/4" male adapter. I had this plugged straight into the compressor, but i was owrried about unnecessarry weight and pressure on the jack.
So i took apart another patch cable and simply soldered the ground to the sleeve of the 1/4 coming off the fmod. i did the same to the hot wire to the tip. Covered it all up in electrical tape and used a lighter to heat shrink it. However, there was some crackling when i was playing for a little bit then it went away.
Should I assume that since it stopped I'll be fine? Or should I just go to radioshack tomorrow and get a female rca to 1/4 patch, or at least a female rca to 1/4 adapter and then a 1/4 female to male patch cable
