Fodera and appreciation of value

Not looking for an investment......I guess am trying to justify if I should dump that much cash into a bass. I am definately going to spend the next several months scouring the used market and current stocked basses to see whats out there.

IMO... NO.

I've had my share of cheaper, but great quality, used basses... and some not-so-cheap. I find myself enjoying the cheaper bass just as much as the not-so-cheap. :smug:

Depending on what you want or need, will change how much you should spend.
If you can get the same tone with equal amount of comfort in a cheaper bass... go for the cheaper. Unless you get a bass just for collection purposes... you might as well find something affordable... after all, the vast majority of basses will depreciate.
Heck, look at PBC/Bunker basses... they are new for about $2,000 but used for a quarter of that. :rollno:
