Not a chance!

All we have on TB is arguing about price, how SX/Squiers are great and how Fender/RIC/Ampeg suck.

Take any of these items away, TB would be an awfully boring place. just a bunch of "best basses/amps/strings/cables/DI/fretboard cleaner for metal" threads.

It's been stated: it's worth it, if you think it's worth it.

That being said, a Monarch Standard 4 (2012 prices) is less than 5k, which puts it in the ballpark of US made Spectors, some Fender custom shop, US MTD's, Elricks, Canadian made F-Bass, etc. They seem pretty reasonably priced.
