Fodera bass dilemma..

so munji, are you indirectly saying that your emperor is your favorite amongst all of your basses? :)

For my acoustic trio, yes. I prefer other basses for my classic rock band. But the guys at Fodera are going to fix that for me with a Viceroy with specs similar to Mike Pope's but without the grabber pickup. The Emperor is walnut/maple/ebony - the Viceroy will be mahogany/koa/ebony, for a more rock-oriented tone.

That said, I have a bunch of basses that are essentially tied for favorite, the Fodera among them.

Woahh...i didnt realise my thread would garner so much response. Lol. I have tried an emperor before. But it was a deluxe one. It was and still is the most perfect bass ever IMHO. I am weighing in once again the Matt Garrison Model. Perhaps, i should just get both the Emperor standard and MG standard. Plus by ordering both together, i have some time to raise some cash..lol.

I really think that's what you should do.

nostatic, who do you go through to ensure your fodera? Mind if I ask what the ballpark cost is? I'm interested in doing this...

Anderson Group. Cost depends on how much you insure. Ping them and they'll give you a quote. I think they are quite reasonable. There are other good companies out there as well (Clarion, etc).
