Had to throw the pic of Felix playing it....

I know there is a search function, but man right after Jason said he didn't want to announce it?

The point was not in any way to backstab Just thumpin' or anyone else.
Since it had been said explicitly already though,-by Anthony Jackson himself-and people seem interested,I thought nothing of it.
I did not use and would not have used any outside stuff, only what was already posted on TB.
But just in case anyone else sees this as a touchy issue I've altered my post.

Ok . I have a aquestion . What kind of a tonal impact does having a chestnut top have on the instrument ? I'm particularly reffering to matt Garrison's model which has an Walnut body with a chestnut top and I'm not suire abo0ut this but I think its either got a 5 piece maple or ash neck with an ebony fingerboard .

Chestnut is a very light weight, low density wood. It has a minimal tonal impact -- kind of like a haze filter used to protect a camera lens...that's the best analogy I can conjure up after a 14 hour work day with a sick wife and son at home...

Anyway, we have replaced Chestnut with Buckeye Burl -- they are similar in their impact on our instruments from a tone perspective in that they are a somewhat neutral filter that allows the tone of the underlying body wood, neck and FB shine through...

Hope this helps!

Not even really sure what this whole thread refers to...

That said, anything in the public domain is totally fair game. Please do NOT think anything of me wishing that something would or wouldn't be shared...it's a small world and information moves fast...if it's out there, it's out there!

It's all good...
