I am pretty sure that this one went to Austin Bass Traders. Somebody here better call Glenn before it's too late! That masur birch top is stunning.

Exactly right...this newest Newborn did go to Austin Bass Traders. Glenn is who we built the one that went to the NAMM Show for...so this is his second with a virtually identical spec. The bass is a tonal MONSTER.

Yes indeed!!:smug:

My tastes have changed some throughout the years and prefer "less figured" tops from what I use to order. I love maple and think the standard top will look just lovely even though it's 3A. I guess also that is why I didn't go for the solid top, it's not that important to me for the overall look of the instrument. Also most of the neck wood will be covered by pickups, bridge and ramp. Just as long as Joey and Vinny's hands with the rest of the team create my instrument I couldn't ask for a more wonderful gift.

Really guys a Fodera is not about wicked looks or "extreme" low action, which they do posses, for me it is the simple understanding that the founders of this company have spent the their lives producing and refining the idea of the bass guitar. And apply that to the instruments they produce. I know how to build guitars and could make a wonderful instrument with the money I am using to purchase a Fodera. However I wanted to have my instrument built by those two men and the people under their tutelage.

15 years is a long time to "think" about buying a bass but what the hell.

Thank you again to Jason for giving the luthiers the opportunity to do their craft by taking up the "BS" part of the business...lol You are doing a fine job sir.

So you like a nice piece of Ash? LOL.
