I was just checking out the newborn section at Fodera's site and saw a section for a Matt Garrison Standard. There were no pics there yet, maybe in a few weeks.

It look to me ,as though the one M.G is holding in the pictures has a bolt on neck, doesn't it?
...but that's normal on standards.

How can you tell it's bolt on? There aren't any pics close to unveilng the joint.

I am certainly not confirming that we are doing an MG Standard, but IF we did, we would not use a bolt-on configuration...

You do get a good look at the headstock though. Could no string tree mean it has the traditional scarf joint (ie. an angled headstock)?

If you go to newborns, and select the Model pulldown to filter the list, one of the options is Matt Garrison Standard.

That Monarch 4 Elite is an AMAZING bass. I sold it earlier this year to Ron in preparation for delivery of my two recent Monarchs as my wife has finally declared martial law (or should I say "marital law") and will not tolerate more than a dozen. Thank goodness it's a high number, but that has necessitated a "one-in, one-out" policy. So, earlier this year I sold this Monarch Elite (which was replaced by my new olive-topped one) and the Monarch 4 that used to belong to Richard Bona (which was replaced by the Brazilian topped one).

BOTH basses are very, very fine, but I had bought them used and wanted to replace them with ones that I had a hand in designing, picking woods for and putting together...

I know this has been posted before, but I don't even know how to begin searching for it.


Can anyone please tell me the difference between the custom shop bridge and the standard bridge? I was thinking about updating the bridge on my Monarch, but I'm not sure which one I want or what I get for the difference in price.


If anyone has pictures of both, that would be great.

Did anybody get any Fodera stuff for Christmas? I always wonder if anyone is so lucky to be surprised with something unbelievable, such as a Fodera bass under the tree...hee..hee..hee.

If I were to get a Yin Yang again, this would be what I'd want -- except maybe with an ebony finger board and alder body, or a maple board with an ash body.
