In both my old home and this one I store them in their cases upright on a rack except for the 2-3 that I am playing at any given time. I keep both the temperature and humidity fairly constant, that is between 65 and 70 degrees and 34-55% humidity. That is pretty much optimal for stringed instrument storage...

The biggest things to avoid are the extremes (hot/cold, damp/dry) and rapid changes in either temperature or humidity...generally if you are comfortable your basses will be too!

So your working in degrees Fahrenheit. My concern is that at some point I'll be taking a few basses to the Carribean which has an average temp of 70 to 80 degrees and the humidity is around 85-90%, I have aircon but there's no central heating.

I don't want to carry these back and forth too much (they won't be Fodera's) but I wonder if it's safe to leave them in cases for upto 2/3 months at a time? If the house were occupied most of the time it wouldn't be a problem, but it won't..

does anyone know if foderas neck stays nice and buttery forever? Do you have to apply the mineral oil every 6 months to keep it like that?

I too gravitate towards smaller frets, especially after owning a nordy vj5. I'm sure that garrison will absolutely kill though!...very similar to my dream imperial specs.

Curt, those are great specs and would offer some great contrast to your Yin Yang deluxe.

I can't say enough good things about Brazilian rosewood. I'd be curious to hear what that Monarch with BR as a top wood sounds like.

Thanks! I think so, too! Jason said he's thinking it's going to be a very warm bass, and that's just what I'm looking for... The maple neck should give it just enough kick

I was gonna tell you guys- I went to move the jumpers on my Pope pre around to change the switches and I broke one of the poles off the board!

The bass was not working but it just needed a little soldering that my tech just finished. I haven't spoke with him about it but he told me to come pick it up so I'm hoping it went well. Mike Pope and I have chatted about it and he thought that would be fine.

Be careful in there! I should've invested in some smaller pliers, mine were a touch to large.
