this is basically electronica/groove/trance stuff (well heavier groove track). ipad apps for synth sounds and drum programming, abelton live for some synth stuff plus other drum programming, a couple of different bass tracks (all fodera). (no guitars were hurt in the making of this track.)

the 12 was used for the intro and the main groove—has a fair amount of overdrive on it.

it's long, you get the idea by the time you get about 4:00 minutes in.

Anyone that has a Fodera Standard and wants to convert the EQ from 3 to a 4 Band EQ. I have for sale a new Stack Hi/Low Mids Pod and brand new with Fodera black knobs. Send me a PM if interested.

So are you still writing the book? It looks like you'd have to add another chapter or two since you've become a partner - the picture from all directions has changed quite a bit.

Additionally, I was so taken with the instruments that I started hanging around the shop a LOT, started writing a book about them and look at where that ended up!

I owned a fair number of basses before my first Fodera and have been playing since around 1980. The only bass that I have now other than my Foderas is my original 1964 Jazz Bass -- everything else has long since been sold.

To say that my first Fodera changed my life would NOT be an understatement. I simply could not get the tone, feel and aesthetics out of my mind...they were almost haunting to me...still are!

i'll tell you that i still have my first fodera that i got 28 years ago—and it's still one of the best instruments i've ever played— and i have bought more after that.

not many times you'll go through that long with an instrument.

to me, that's a testament about what they are.

agreed... on all points.. 29 years for mine. Played a lot of instruments through the years.. a lot of them really fine.. but none have come close for me..

i just looked at the tracks and i didn't make any notations of which ones i used (started to do that recently). when i solo them up it sounds like blob synth and spectrumgen for the noisey stuff, sunrizer and/or arctic keys for the pad stuff.

the bed rhythm track is electrify, which has the handy fearture of having eight parts you can have at different bar lengths for each . . . so you can get some interesting things that repeat once every 56 bars or something. i used that and then also used abelton live doing a more normal drum track (bass/snare/hat).

each track on that bandcamp things uses different apps or combinations. as you know, they're like salted peanuts—hard to just get one.

Very cool stuff. I don't have the patience to program and layer like that. Short attention span and all that....SQUIRREL!

Speaking of recording, I wrote this tune on Wed after cleaning the bathroom (keeping with the housework theme). I wrote the grooves on the looper pedal, then laid down a rough track in Logic with a canned percussion loop to send out to the rest of the band. The head and solo will be sax. Main bass line is the Rob Allen, the rest is all MGS.

my "programming skills" are not all that great. i rely on happy mistakes and kismet.

the percussion deal is easy. i can show you.

i had a band called squirrel for a little bit . . .
