The only change from my original post of specs is that the hardware is now gold instead of black, and I asked them to ship the bass with the ramp uninstalled.

Last time I saw Vic at the Birchmere, not only was he kind enough to take a picture with me, he also signed my CD copy if Music Lesson, and so did his kids, and so did JD.
It can depend on the venue, but generally Vic is very approachable and happy to talk to fans after a show.

Received the great Monarch 4 Standard a few days ago. It was a very nice delivery indeed! "Someone", who will remain nameless, accidently forgot to tell me it was shipped (no one at Fodera!).
I got home shortly after noon, only to find I missed the FedEx man! I had an appointment that evening so I was not going to be able to pick it up at 8 pm from the FedEx hub.
I called and they said they would not be able to try a redelivery and I would have to wait until tomorrow. But..... I was traveling all day tomorrow!!!
The FedEx delivery guy just happens to live nearby and recognized the Fodera brand. He brought it by to try and redeliver it while I was writing an email saying I was not going to be able to get it! Lol how sweet is THAT!!!!
The Monarch is So easy to play. I can't describe how easy. It is almost like I only have to think about what I want to do and not even worry about the bass. I have to work on technique etc. but the bass almost plays itself.
Tone is .... well.... its just perfect. Sustain, intonation, you name it. No dead or soft spots, its just perfect. Sound can go from dirty to very clean. I just cant say enough good about it. The fit, and finish are..... well, here is that word again.... Perfect!

I received my Emperor Standard just over a week ago and I still can't put it down. Just amazing basses.

Thanks to all who provided the nice compliments on the wood for my new bass. Jason is 100% responsible. He'd found that piece of Chestnut just hours before I spoke to him about finalizing the order, and I was simply lucky enough to be the first to talk to him and he offered the piece. I asked if he could find an appropriately beautiful piece of Brazilian for the fretboard, and I think he did a stellar job!
Looks like some nice blue in the chestnut. And that braz will look great. Jason always finds something cool in the stash.
Last night I was doing a brief (failed) 6'er experiment and afterwards ended up spending a couple of hours working on some tunes and then put fresh strings on both the YYD and MGS. I've had the YYD for a little over a year now, and have a bunch of gigs with her. I have to say that the bass gets better every time I play it. I've cycled through a number of instruments since getting it but none have manage to dethrone it (though it isn't a competition - and remember kids, no wagering). I keep my Rob Allen because that is a completely different beast (that I love as well), and I'll have the 5'ers strung E-C for enable more comping, but if I had to drop down to one, it would be the YYD left standing. Just a spectacular instrument that has proved to be well worth the price of admission.

Awesome. I love the layering of the woods in the neck joint.
I wonder if the contrast between a purpleheart and buckeye burl top would translate nicely into a YY top.
