Two more...the sound of the three piece body (mahogany-ash-mahogany) with the bolt on neck and ebony board is just what I was looking for. Again a huge thanks to Jason, Phil et al for being so committed to what you do. The detail on the bass is superb. The way the butterfly was matched with the grain of the wood and seems to flow right through..wow!
Next to buy is a good stand!

Holly = Killer.

My build starts 3/6/14. Monarch 5, Bolt-on, Alder body, Holly top, 17.5 mm bridge pushed out as wide as possible (17.75mm according to Jason), 24 fret Indian RW board, Duncan Dual Coils, Pope Pre, black hardware. Going for clean, high contrast on the look. Tick-tock, tick-tock.

I don't think Holly really does anything sonically, it just looks really cool for an unpainted wood....

Personal preference. I really dig the clean look of it.

And yeah, as Mitch said (and Jason advised me as well) it doesn't really offer any tonal advantages/disadvantages.
