Don't recall seeing one, but that would look insane with ebony.
When we do that on a Bolt-on or a Deluxe we call it a three-piece body and that is an available option. We are actually using that construction on the Emperor 5 Fretless Standard. We found that by using a center block of Swamp Ash we could attain the tone that we wanted for the instrument and reduce the weight by over 1/2 pound...

There's a bass for sale on the fodera site that looks almost identical to this one but I think it's a monarch 6 with 28 frets....but very similar tops with all the ramps. Gorgeous!
I don't think Holly really does anything sonically, it just looks really cool for an unpainted wood....
Personal preference. I really dig the clean look of it.
And yeah, as Mitch said (and Jason advised me as well) it doesn't really offer any tonal advantages/disadvantages.
