thanks for the kind words, guys....it's really exciting to look up and see it on my wall! It is indeed 36" and no it doesn't have straplocks. It was AJs 9th personal Presentation built for him in 2002. Not sure how long he had it before #10 came into play. Story goes that the 5A chestnut top was the nicest piece of a 350 yr old tree that was struck by lightning. But I'm having the guys at Fodera install the straplocks for me tomorrow so I can stand with it. The 36" scale is not as scary as you think, and I'm coming from a 33" scale Imperial....def going from 5 to 6 is a more difficult adjustment, IMO. Def a keeper, but I don't see it replacing my Imperial as #1 just yet....
Is it alder or ash body?![]()

You gonna love the high C nowIs it alder or ash body?
Ah, I remember this bass fondly. I was lucky enough to own this bass from 2003-2005. AJ was kind enough to sign the back of the peghead for me at a 2004 Michel Camilo gig at Catalina's in LA.
#9 was my "gateway drug" to the Hybrid and the AJ PII. Enjoy!
