I like the ramp. Never have taken it off. I have ramps on only 2 of my basses though. I like my Js and PJ traditional.

The first time I tried to take a ramp off of a Fodera, I was stumped. Couldn't budge it. And I'm a fairly large and powerful human being. However, no luck! So, I challenged my wife to get it done. She is much smaller, but also much smarter than I am. 2 minutes later she emerged from the room, ramp in hand. She slid a piece of dental floss between pickup and ramp and popped it right off. Like I said, WAY smarter than I am.
Mine was pretty solidly stuck on as well. I think I wound up using a business card to make the initial progress.

On two of them, absolutely never remove them. They're perfect, they don't move, and they are dialed in, and the basses play perfectly. I fear touching the ramps and destroying equilibrium.
On my most recent two, I have removed them off/on. One bass has a ramp piece that warps with humidity and peels up on the treble side that is frustrating. I keep it in the case. On another, the ramps are way too tall and there are fret issues, so I had to a remove ramp piece to let the bass be playable. In both cases I need to get the situation fixed.
Normally, I would prefer not to remove the ramps. If i want a bass that doesn't have ramps, I just use a different bass, because these were built with the ramps in mind and I prefer the feel.

Congrats!! I love the looks and the specs of your bass. I'm a big fan of Walnut tops and Mahogany bodies. Mine (walnut top & mahogany body) are on different basses though. ☺
