Well at least it's not a permanent ban as I've seen with another commercial user. We support you Jason and Laura thanks for stepping in.

Posing the questions is fine; the issue can be in a CU answering them (in the thread, which is different from responding by message of course).

CUs answering specific questions, when not about pricing or something that's like a promotion of why a brand is so great, is generally fine. So in this case, answering questions about woods or features are probably fine, questions that approach, "Why are new Foderas so awesome?" are not. There also isn't any kind of owner loophole, like if a CU is also a player/user of a bass, doesn't mean that he/she can write a review or share a video of it like a non-CU could. Posts that are not responding to inquiries but serve to self-promote (by bumping a thread for example) can also be problematic. Posts that are basically PR describing what's new with a brand when not in response to an inquiry can also be in violation of the CUP.

Hopefully this is obvious, but I'm not saying Jason did all of these things; I'm just talking generally. The CUP can be viewed in the TB Rules. If there are other questions not about Jason specifically, feel free to send me a message.

Hope this helps. I get that people are frustrated and was impressed with the photoshop job :), but please, get back to these great basses.

I have an employee built Fauxdera (just added a pic of the area in question) with their Bartolini dual coils. I have mine wired (with the 2 Fodera toggles) for outer coil singles, inner coil singles, and (I presume) humbucking mode in series. Switch one is up for outer singles, down for inner singles. Switch two is up for either single coil mode and down for dual. I guess you could also do outer coil singles, series and parallel wiring on two regular toggles, but if you add in a mid switch, an active passive or a mute switch you could have 4-5 toggles.

If anyone's interested, my experience with the Bartolini duals wound for Fodera in the 80s and 90s sound more like the Aeros. Great single coil mode sounds (outer coils sound a bit like a 70s Fender Jazz, inner coils have a kind of 60s jazz thing going on but they sound a lot thicker and low-middy), but in series they just sound a bit dull. I only use the dual mode if I'm soloing the neck pickup for ersatz P bass tones. No idea what they sound like in parallel; Probably better than in series.

Anyone ever heard of inner / outer single coil modes on an Aero or Duncan equipped bass?

Here's one of a beautiful Imperial Elite (formerly Beez Elite). It's not mine, but to me, it's one of the most beautiful builds I've ever seen. Not sure if it's the lighting or what but it gets me every time! Lol

I too was bumped from TB for a comment that unknowingly conformed against the forum's policy. No worries as they are just trying to keep everything fair and equal.

Looking forward to Jason's return when he's served his 'sentence'.

Thanks for the insight and I read up on the rules. So the fact that Jason's a muso & business partner (of a company he religiously believes in), means he walks a tight-rope thinner than a 0.24 C string in how he responds to Q's.
I scrolled back, read some questions, (in particular the Golden years Q) and responses. Jason's summation and IMHO his observations we're just honest opinions but in doing so he broke that high C. I thought it was good to hear his feedback and for curious newbie's it provided some background to the Fodera story, IMHO something you wouldn't be able to answer sufficiently in a PM.
