Yes, the pickups on the Ash/Maple Emperor Elite 5 are Nordstrands (HAS Lab preamp here). They add more bite and sizzle compared to the originals, but the bass sounds big still.

Ah man, it's good to be back, sending you a PM but just a quick update, I've been through the ringer, open chest surgery to remove to of the tumors and then open up the back of my scull for another tumor and then 3 days of laser treatment and not able to play bass for 3 months, finally I can play again, gotta build up my callases.

Many thanks Jonno and Joel. My plucking fingers hurt so bad by the end of the night I had to borrow a pick from our guitartist. 
I didn't even have time to break in my finger tips. 
Well, news now is my latest scan shows a new 7mm tumor on my lung now. So much for my remission time.
It's cool though, I guess it's the Lords way and sense of humor of letting me know that the fat lady hasn't sung yet but she's in the green room waiting to go on. 
I'm back on treatment now and hopefully being such a small tumor that the treatment will work on this one without going back and being opened up again although the surgeon did do a great job of fileting me open and stitching me back up. They called me zipper head with the staples in my scalp.
I'll be PMing you Joel about some Nords.

That's a good one. As much as I liked the buckeye, I'm staying with the two that I have now. Do you still have the EMP2?

Hey Echo,
Looks like you have the same Haz Labs pre as in my 6 string..Open up the control cover and move all the dip switches to the down off position it will be like the bass just woke up..
They have them set from Fodera in a way the cuts alot of the highs and in my opinnion kills alot of the natural sound of the bass..
