Nlow,my "rant" wasn't at all directed at JoelC or his business. My rant(if you want ot call it that) is directed at Fodera. Read it again. There are zero implications to the Groove Shoppe or Joel (aside from the fact that he didn't know where they were made). Unless you're saying The Groove Shoppe=Fodera. If that's the case... then I guess that was directed at him. Otherwise...... no![]()
Tony Oppenheim said:It doesn't say anywhere on that page where the Fodera NYC basses are made.
It does say "...to keep the cost down we build these in small batches..." but it does not say where they are built.
If you want to know I think you'll have to ask Fodera.
]Even if it was at his shop, if he doesn't SELL the bass, he doesn't SELL the bass

beav2k2 said:The point I'm trying to make is this - Fodera seems to be secerative about these basses. Name a company that produces a high end bass that isn't happy to tell you where it's made? Brubaker has no bones on where all their basses are made. One click on the website shows that.
I'm asking, why would you want to mislead your customers? If it's made in the US say it. If it's made in Bangladesh, say it.
beav2k2 said:Ok, let me clarify what I'm saying and I'll throw my hat in fellas.
Joel, the only reason I brought you into this is your "the shop" statement. I automatically assumed "the shop" was "the shop" that you own/work at. As I said, I apoligise for this assumption (I even threw in a smilie to seal the deal)
If he didn't sell the bass(es), how did he sell the bass(es)?![]()

No implications of the Groove Shoppe here. I've never read a cross word about Joel or anyone else. The GS is just the middle man. They have nothing to do with the production of any Fodera. They place the order, they receive the bas, and they sell the bass. Hence, I'm not talking about them at all.
Brad, I don't think you realise we're agreeing on a couple of things. No, they don't carry them on a regular basis. No, it's not a selling point of the GS. That's settled. We're in agreement here.
Even IF they did sell the NYC basses, this wouldn't really have anything to do with them. They wouldn't double the list price, nor would they half the list price to sell the basses.

Actually, i've had two, but i've also had an NYC that was slammin no matter where it was made.Fretless5verfan said:Clearly you've never had a bass made in Copenhagen![]()
